Manchester United could still sign Ruben Neves from Wolves before the transfer window slams shut, it has been claimed. The Portugal international has been heavily linked with a move to Old Trafford over the past few weeks. And while Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has been coy on the possibility of more arrivals, this transfer can’t be ruled out.
Manchester United have signed Tom Heaton, Jadon Sancho and Raphael Varane so far this summer.
But, with the club hoping to win their first Premier League title since 2013, Solskjaer is still open to more reinforcements.
United have been linked with Saul Niguez and Eduardo Camavinga, of Atletico Madrid and Rennes respectively.
Yet deals for both players appear unlikely.
And, now, Eurosport’s Dean Jones has claimed United have a deal for Neves ‘there’, with the club already doing their homework on the Wolves star.

“It’s one that’s there. I wouldn’t necessarily say it’s likely.”
If United were to sign Neves, they’d be hopeful he could be the latest Portuguese hit at Old Trafford.
They signed Cristiano Ronaldo from Sporting Lisbon in 2003, landing the winger as a replacement for David Beckham.
It initially took Ronaldo a while to adjust to life in the Premier League, especially with the burden of the No 7 shirt on his back.
But the Juventus star ended up being a roaring success, propelling the club to three straight league titles as well as the Champions League crown in 2008.
In 2007, United forked out for Nani.
And while he sometimes struggled to emerge from Ronaldo’s shadow, he still played a key role in four title triumphs.
Then, in January 2020, the Red Devils snapped up Bruno Fernandes.
And the 26-year-old has been a major success story in the time since, becoming the talisman of Solskjaer’s team.
Wolves boss Bruno Lage, meanwhile, recently opened up on Neves’ future.
And while he admitted he wanted the 24-year-old to stay, he also claimed ‘every player had a price’.
“All the top players we have are linked with all the clubs in the world,” he said.
“If you go to Portugal, the top players at Benfica are all linked with moves to Wolves.
“Ruben is happy here and we are happy with him. We are not thinking to let anyone leave, but every player has a price.
“You never know, if Messi changes to PSG then anyone can go.”
