Max Verstappen could share unlucky F1 record with Stirling Moss in Belgium | F1 | Sport

Similarly to Verstappen, Rosberg duelled with Hamilton for years before it all came to a head in 2016 as the Mercedes pair – who were long-time friends before their rivalry deteriorated the relationship – battled for the championship.

The German retired immediately after winning the title, citing the need to spend time with his young family, and he was the last person not named Lewis Hamilton to win the Formula 1 World Championship.

Verstappen is now desperately trying to do the same – and he could temporarily collect Moss’ record in the process.

F1 returns from its summer break with the Belgian Grand Prix, the first of three consecutive weeks of racing.
