NBA: Giannis Antetokounmpo passes Robinson for second on Milwaukee Bucks’ all-time scoring list

With a punishing driving dunk, Giannis Antetokounmpo moved past Glenn Robinson for second all time on the Milwaukee Bucks’ franchise scoring list.
Antetokounmpo finished with 24 points, 14 rebounds and seven assists in 24 minutes during a 132-94 blowout win over the undermanned Philadelphia 76ers on Saturday.
The reigning two-time MVP earned an ovation from fans when he passed “Big Dog” Robinson (12,010 points) on his slam dunk with 10 minutes, 58 seconds left in the third quarter.
Antetokounmpo, 26, now ranks second in points (12,023) and rebounds in Bucks history.
And he trails only Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, who leads the franchise with 14,211 points.
“Oh, that’s why they were cheering today?” Antetokounmpo said when he heard the fans recognized the milestone.
“I just realized that. It’s a great compliment. It’s a marathon, not a sprint.
“So, I got to keep working hard, keep believing in myself, keep polishing my skills, keep having great teammates, great coaching staff.
“It’s a lot of hard work that paid off but got to keep moving forward.”
Robinson was the No. 1 overall pick in the 1994 NBA draft.
He played eight seasons for the Bucks, averaging 21.1 points and 6.2 rebounds in Milwaukee.
Saturday was the 14th time that Antetokounmpo has led both teams outright in points and assists in under 30 minutes, according to Elias Sports Bureau data.
That is four more than any other player in the shot-clock era (since 1954-55).
