Napoli manager, Luciano Spalleti is looking forward to working with Victor Osimhen, according to media reports from Italy.
The Tuscan coach who has managed AS Roma and Inter Milan in the past has an impressive record of bringing out the very best in his strikers.
According to Repubblica, Spalletti is keen to meet the Nigeria international ahead of the 2021/22 campaign.
The Italian was recently appointed as replacement for Gennaro Gattuso who was sacked following the club’s failure to secure a spot in the UEFA Champions League spot.
Osimhen linked up with the Partenopei from Ligue 1 outfit Lille last summer after just one season at the club.
The 22-year-old scored 10 goals in 24 league appearances for Napoli last season.
Meanwhile, Osimhen’s agent, William D’Avilla has already backed his client to make a huge impact under new Napoli manager, Spalleti next season.
D’Avilla is also upbeat that the Super Eagles attacking sensation will be the club’s main man next term.
“It will be great for the team to have a top coach like him (Spalleti).
“4-2-3-1 will be the formation and Victor will be the offensive force,” D’Avilla told Kiss Kiss Napoli.
D’Avilla also stated that the 22-year-old is still disappointed with the way the season ended for his team.
“Champions League ? He is disappointed with the lack of qualification but the Europa League is a prestigious tournament,” he added.
“It was incredible, Victor was sure they would beat Verona. I don’t know what happened during the game.”
