Salernitana are in talks with two Nigerian players, Joel Obi and Nwankwo Simy, according to reports in Italy.
The newly-promoted club are working to build up their squad, back in Serie A after more than 20 years.
According to Sky Sport Italia, they are in negotiations with 30-year-old Nigeria international midfielder Obi.
He is a free agent after his contract with Chievo expired, having spent most of his career in Italy with Inter, Parma, Torino and Chievo.
Sportitalia maintain Salernitana are also setting up a meeting with Crotone for striker Simy.
The 29-year-old has also been linked with Udinese, Genoa and Torino after his sensational 20 Serie A goals last season.
Those were not enough to prevent Crotone’s relegation and he has attracted interest from abroad, but so far not the firm offers that the club was expecting.
The asking price for tall centre-forward Simy is believed to be at least €10m.
