NPFL: Remo Stars Reclaim Top Spot; Shooting Stars, Heartland Share Spoils

Sikiru Alimi scored the decisive goal as Remo Stars defeated Plateau United 1-0 to reclaim top spot in the Nigeria Premier Football League.

Alimi netted the winner a minute after the hour mark.

Remo Stars top the standings with 22 points from 11 games.

At the Mobolaji Johnson Arena, Onikan, Sporting Lagos ended their three-game winless streak courtesy of a 1-0 victory against Katsina United.

Clement Naantaum netted the winning goal in the 11th minute.

In Ibadan, Shooting Stars were held to a 0-0 draw by Heartland.

Hosts Abia Warriors rallied to hold Bayelsa United to a 2-2 draw at the Umuahia Township Stadium.

Samson Obi gave Abia Warriors the lead on 73 minutes, while Dehinde Ibrahim added the second three minutes later.

Robert Mizo scored twice late on to help Bayelsa United earn a share of the spoils from the game.

Former champions Kano Pillars defeated Gombe United 5-2 at the Pantami Township Stadium.

Yusuf Abdullahi scored all five goals for Pillars, while Sadiq Shuaibu and Ahmed Jimoh were on target for Gombe United.
