Kelechi Nwakali has revealed he is proud of himself and all his team-mates at Alcorcon after picking up yet another victory against Zaragoza in the La Liga SmartBank.
The Nigerian midfielder on deadline day moved to the Spanish second division to secure regular playing time and help the Potters in their battle against relegation.
The 22-year-old made a switch to a familiar league after seriously struggling for playing time at CD Huesca where he played only five matches in La Liga this season.
Nwakali helped Pacheta’s side gain promotion to the Spanish top-flight after making five appearances as they emerged as winners of the 2019-20 Segunda Division title.
He has made two appearances for Alcorcon who are fourth from bottom in the Spanish second tier but believes they will not be relegated after beating Zaragoza 1-0 on Monday.
Nwakali who won the U-17 World Cup in 2015 when he captained Nigeria to the title wrote on Instagram: “Proud of you guys today. Another 3 points las las, God too much.”
