Breaking: Nwakali still waiting for first LaLiga start since October

Former Nigeria junior international midfielder Kelechi Nwakali will have to wait till Friday next week before nursing any hope of making his first LaLiga start since last October after he failed to start in the Match week 20 home game against Samuel Chukwueze’s Villareal on Saturday.

Nwakali, captain of Nigeria’s U-17 FIFA World Cup winning team in 2015 has started just once in five LaLiga games for SD Huesca so far this term and that was way back in October when he featured for 57 minutes in the 4-1 loss at the Estadio Alfredo Di Stéfano to their guests, Real Madrid.

Since then, the 2015 FIFA U-17 World Cup golden ball winner has featured for just 35 minutes in the two games he has played and has not featured in the club’s last nine games prior to this Saturday’s tie against Villareal.

Nwakali will now be hoping to return to real reckoning at the club when they visit the Estadio José Zorrilla where they will face their host, Real Valladolid in a match week 21 fixture.

SD Huesca are currently at the bottom of the 20-team LaLiga Santander log with 13 points from 20 games.
