Watford have announced the arrival of Nigerian midfielder Peter Etebo from Stoke City.
He arrives on a season-long loan with an option to buy.
Etebo, whose real name is Oghenekaro but is known as Peter, is a low-risk option that could end up paying off in the future, should his loan move work out.
The midfielder shares an agent with new Watford striker Emmanuel Dennis and has been with the Potters since 2018 but has been sent out on loan to both Getafe and Galatasaray during that time.
He has made 51 appearances for Stoke in all competitions, scoring twice and providing one assist.
The 25-year-old is primarily a defensive central midfielder but has also played on the left on occasion as well.
The box-to-box midfielder is capped 38 times by Nigeria’s senior team, having previously turned out 19 times for the Super Eagles’ Under-23s.
Etebo began his career with Warri Wolves before switching to Portuguese outfit Feirense in 2016.
With Feirense he earned an immediate promotion to the Primeira Liga, then helping the team establish themselves in the top flight.
