20th NSF: Okezie, Nse Uko Are New King and Queen of 400m

Delta state’s Chidi Okezie needed to run a new 45.60 seconds personal best to win his first career title as a senior as he defeated pre-race favourites, Team Lagos’ Ifeanyi Ojeli who ran the fastest time (45.99) in the semi-final and Team Oyo’s Sikiru Adeyemi.

In the women’s version, Nse Uko Imaobong proved the future belongs to the youth when she raced past veteran quartermiler, Patience George of Cross River at the second curve and was never headed before storming to a massive 51.70 seconds personal best to win.

The time erased the 51.84 seconds new Samuel Ogbemudia stadium record set by George last year.
