Current Nigeria first choice goalkeeper, Maduka Okoye will be looking to make his 6th clean sheets for Sparta Rotterdam this season as they go on the road trip against VVV Venlo tonight at the Covebo Stadion – De Koel.
Sparta will be looking to return to winning ways as they are currently without a win in their last eight games losing five and drawing three which has brought them down to the 13th position on the 18-team Dutch Eredivisie table.
Okoye unfortunately conceded a 90+6 minute penalty goal converted by de Leeuw as bottom-placed Emmen denied Sparta Rotterdam the maximum points in the match that eventually ended 1-1 last weekend.
The 21-year old keeper has now made 18 appearances in the Dutch Eredivisie this season conceding 28 goals while recording five clean sheets.
Sparta last won a league match on January 13 in the 1-0 away win against Fortuna Sittard and they could record their second win after eight games against Venlo who have lost their last five consecutive league games that have seen them dropped to the 15th position on the table.
