Okoye ships in 21 goals in 15 games …Balogun returns to Rangers reckoning

Super Eagles goalkeeper Maduka Okoye failed in his bid for a sixth clean sheet of the season following his club, Sparta Rotterdam’s 2-1 loss to visiting Fortuna Sittard in a Dutch Eredivise tie this evening at the Sparta sadion.

The two goals the Nigerian conceded has brought his total tally to 21 goals in just 10 games while he kept clean sheets in five games.

In Scotland, defender Leon Balogun returned to the starting line up for Rangers in their Scottish Premiership tie against Kilmarnock.

The Nigeria was an unused substitute in Rangers last four league games but looks to have impressed gaffer,Steven Gerrard in training to get the nod to start today,his 13th in 15 games in the competition.

Balogun’s Nigerian compatriot at the club,Joe Aribo started his 11th straight game and 19th in 21 games so far this term.

The Super Eagles midfielder has scored five times and provided three assists for the club so far this term.
