Ola Aina resumes relegation battle as Fulham visit Aston Villa

Ola Aina will resume Fulham’s battle to survive being relegated from the Premier League into the SkyBet Championship when they visit Aston Villa at the Villa Park come Sunday.

Aina had a glorious outing on international duty with the Super Eagles of Nigeria which qualified for the African Cup of Nations to be hosted by Camerooun in the year 2022.

The defender played one of the two matches which saw Nigeria beat the Republic of Benin 1-0 in Porto-Novo and Lesotho 3-0 at the Teslim Balogun Stadium in Surulere, Lagos State on Tuesday.

And now, having made his return to the United Kingdom, the Super Eagles’ versatile defender will now have his sights set on making sure that Fulham give themselves hope against relegation.

He has made 26 starts in 26 Premier League games from which he has scored twice he says the Cottagers’ primary focus is to make sure that they do not find themselves relegated once again.

Fulham, meanwhile, will be desperate to bounce back after suffering damaging back-to-back defeats against the pair of Manchester City and Leeds United prior to the international break.

Aleksandar Mitrovic enjoyed an extremely productive international break, scoring five goals in three matches for Serbia, so could start upfront in place of Nigerian international, Josh Maja.
