Nigeria defender Kenneth Omeruo has been suspended for the match week 28 tie between his club, Leganes and Castellon this weekend at the Estadio Municipal de Butarque.
Omeruo got his fifth yellow card of the season in Leganes’ 1-0 loss to Ramon Azeez’s FC Cartagena last Friday and will now miss the visit of relegation haunted Castellon.
This would be the first match since December 12 the Nigerian will be missing as he has become an ever present since the arrival of the new coach Asier Garitano. He is the only outfield player who has featured in all the games Garitano has managed with the Nigerian even scoring in the 2-1 defeat of Sadiq Umar’s Almeria at the start of last month.
Omeruo has started 16 of the 17 games he has featured for Leganes so far this term and has scored once.
The former Chelsea player is one of the players gaffer, Garitano is banking on to lead Leganes back to the LaLiga following the Madrid-based club’s relegation to the Segunda (second) division last season
