RC Genk Technical director Dimitri De Condé says Nigerian international forward Paul Onuachu can score in any league after he banged in his 22nd goal in 23 Belgian Jupiler League games on Wednesday.
Condé also believes the Super Eagles star will be a hot cake in the summer for top clubs in Europe seeking his kind of striker but says the club (RC Genk) will try to keep him.
“He’s 27. He’s a top scorer. Our goal is not sell him. In fact he is not leaving this week (final week of the winter transfer window) but if he keeps scoring like he is doing, he will probably be gone next (this) summer,’ said Condé.
Onuachu scored his sixth brace of the season in the 3-2 defeat of Zulte-Waregem mid-week and all eyes will be on the gangling Nigerian when RC Genk visit the AFAS Stadion for their match week 25 tie against KV Mechelen, a team he scored a brace against in September last year.
Onuachu now has 31 goals in 45 games across two seasons in the Belgian Jupiler league. He is contracted to RC Genk until June 30, 2024.
