Gangling forward Paul Onuachu was on song twice to lead his club, RC Genk to a hard fought 3-2 defeat of Zulte-Waregem in a Belgian Jupiler league tie at the Luminus Arena in Genk.
The Nigerian scored once in each half to take his number of braces to six in 23 games. He also increased his goal haul for the season to 22 to extend his position at the top of the top scorers’ list ahead of Thomas Henry who is second with 16 goals.
Onuachu is also just one goal shy of Bayern Munich’s Robert Lewandoswki who has scored 23 times this term.
Onuachu’s impressive runs in front of goals this season has not gone unnoticed as French Ligue 1 side Lyon has been linked with the free scoring forward who tops the chart for Nigeria’s top scorer so far this term, home or abroad
