Onuachu nets 25th goal of season for RC Genk

Ebere Paul Onuachu on Friday netted his 25th overall goal of the season when KRC Genk carved out a 2-1 win over Sporting Charleroi in a Belgian Pro League game at the Stade du Pays de Charleroi.

Onuachu was actually looking to help Genk end its freefall on the Belgian Pro League table when it went into battle against Charleroi and the lanky Nigerian attacking star played a massive role.

The Super Eagles attacker, however, got his name on the scoresheet after shooting Genk one goal ahead against Charleroi from the penalty spot as early as the 17th minute of the league encounter.

Onuachu was taken off the field of play ten minutes from the conclusion of the Belgian top-flight encounter as his place was taken up by fellow Nigerian compatriot and attacker, Cyriel Dessers.

Genk before Friday had lost their previous three fixtures in the Belgian First Division A against the trio of Anderlecht, Oostende and Beerschot which is their worst run since September of 2016.

Super Eagles attacker, Onuachu has been prolific during the 2020/21 season which has seen him score 25 goals in only 29 appearances across all competitions for Genk with 24 coming in the league.
