Onyekuru: ‘What a week!’ …Eagles star happy to contribute with another goal

By Oluyemi Ogunseyin

Henry Onyekuru has hailed the past few days as the best week he has had in a very long while in his football career after the Nigerian striker got on the score-sheet once more.

Onyekuru scored his third goal for Galatasaray in his second Turkish Super Lig encounter to help his side beat
Istanbul Basaksehir 3-0 at the Turk Telekom Stadyumu on Tuesday.

The now in-form Nigerian attacking sensation found the back of the net in the 45th minute of the match courtesy of an assist from Ryan Dunk to put Galatasaray one goal ahead.

Onyekuru was also brought down in the 18-yard box leading to team-mate, Mostafa Mohamed converting a penalty in the 90th minute before he was substituted for Halil Dervisoglu.

Meanwhile, Onyekuru had scored a brace on his third debut for Galatasaray in a Turkish Super Lig tie which ended 2-1 against Gaziantep FK at the Gaziantep Stadyumu last Friday.

The forward who recently completed his loan move to Galatasaray from Monaco replaced Emre Akbaba in the 46th minute, scored in the 51st minute and got his brace on 79 minutes.

Onyekuru thereafter took to the social media where he posted: “What a week! Happy to be back in the stadium and contribute with another goal! All praises to God!,” he tweeted.
