Napoli forward Victor Osimhen has not recovered from the head injury suffered against Atalanta and will miss the match against Sassuolo on Wednesday.
La Repubblica reveals the Nigerian will not travel with Napoli to the Mapei Stadium, as he still struggles after the head injury he suffered towards the end of the 4-2 defeat to La Dea.
The newspaper explains the striker will sit out in the midweek game, where Dries Mertens is expected to continue up front with Lorenzo Insigne and Matteo Politano.
Osimhen resumed individual training at Castel Volturno, Napoli’s training ground on Saturday and he is expected to join the group after mid-week’s game at Sassuolo.
The 22-year-old has only scored two goals in 10 Serie A games since his move from LOSC Lille last summer, as he has struggled with several serious injuries during his first season with the Partenopei.
