Nigerian international forward Victor Osimhen is in Napoli’s matchday squad for their Serie A tie against their host, Hellas Verona at the Stadio Marcantonio Bentegodi later this Sunday.
Osimhen, who only tested negative for Covid-19 late last week and trained on Friday with the squad last featured for Napoli in their 1-0 away win at the Stadio Renato Dall’Ara against Bologna.
The Super Eagle was on for 83 minutes in the game before travelling to Nigeria for the 2022 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying double header against Sierra Leone.
It was in the first leg played at the Samuel Ogbemudia stadium in Benin that he injured his arm before testing positive for Covid-19 after he was seeing attending a party to celebrate his birthday in Lagos at the end of December.
Although it is highly unlikely the Nigerian will feature in the game later today, it is almost a cast iron certainty that he will also be in the squad and feature for some minutes in the Coppa Italia game against Spezia at the Armando Maradona stadium in Naples on Thursday.
