Nigeria and Napoli forward Victor Osimhen will undergo another round of Covid-19 test on Thursday after the second round test carried out on Monday returned positive.
The result of the swab test will determine when the former Lille of France striker can rejoin his teammates for training.
The Nigerian is training alone twice a day in his house in Napoli and he is also running on treadmill which shows his shoulder injury is almost healed.
Napoli gave the player the training programme to follow and the equipment needed to carry out the programme and hope he returns a negative test by the end of this week.
Osimhen will then undergo medical examinations to check his shoulder and arm which coach Gennaro Gattuso said was still a bit swollen last weekend.
If everything goes well, the Nigerian is expected to rejoin the group for training at the end of the month and should be available for selection when Napoli travel on Saturday February 6 to the Stadio Comunale Luigi Ferraris to play Genoa in a Serie tie. Incidentally, Osimhen made his first Serie A start in the Partenopei’s 6-0 defeat of the Rossoblù last September
