Paris Saint-Germain have been strongly linked with a move for Barcelona star Lionel Messi, who is a free agent on June 30, but the French club have made clear to midfielder Leandro Paredes that he should not be discussing his compatriot.
Paredes revealed in January that PSG are trying to convince Messi to make the move to the Parc des Princes, which clearly did not go down well inside the club.
“They have asked me not to talk about it anymore,” Paredes told Le Journal Du Dimanche when asked about the Messi links.
“People didn’t like my position on what I was saying. Some people saw it as disrespectful. This was not the case for me.
“It’s up to Messi to decide calmly at the end of the season what he wants to do with his future.”
PSG announced a couple of days ago that Angel Di Maria has renewed his contract at the club until June 2022, which could be viewed by some as their latest attempt to satisfy Messi.
