Promoters say the postponed third fight between Tyson Fury and Deontay Wilder in Las Vegas will now be held on October 9.
Fury’s WBC world heavyweight title defence against Wilder was initially set to be held on July 24 however the Briton tested positive for COVID-19 last week.
Fury first fought Wilder, 35, in a controversial draw in 2018 and took the WBC title from him in a re-match in February 2020 with a seventh-round stoppage.
Fury, 32, had been set to face fellow Briton Anthony Joshua in Saudi Arabia in August in a world heavyweight unification title fight, but an American arbitrator ordered Fury to fight Wilder again before September 15.
“I want nothing more than to smash the ‘Big Dosser’ on July 24, but I guess the beating will have to wait,” Fury said.
“Make no mistake, I will be back and better than ever. We will fight October 9 and I will knock him spark out.”
Wilder’s manager Shelly Finkel added: “This is what we went to arbitration for.
“He just wanted what was owed to him. He remains ready to reclaim his world title on October 9.”
