Raiola: Only ten clubs can afford to sign Haaland

Mino Raiola, the agent of Erling Braut Haaland, has claimed that only ten clubs in the world can afford to sign his client, four of which are in England.

The 20-year-old Norwegian striker is one of the most sought-after strikers in world football, and Raiola says that his value has skyrocketed as a result of his ability and age.

“It is obvious that everyone sees Erling [Braut Haaland] as one of the new potential stars of the future, because what he has done at his age is very unique,” he said in an interview with the BBC.

“He will be one of the stars of the next decade because we are at a stage where which we are starting to ask how long players like [Zlatan] Ibrahimovic, [Cristiano] Ronaldo and [Lionel] Messi have left.

“Therefore, everyone is waiting on the new generation.”

He claims that, whilst many clubs would love to have Haaland, only ten are able to match his transfer fee and give the striker what he wants.

“Only ten clubs can afford to sign Haaland and give him the setting that he would like to be in after Dortmund.

“Four of those clubs are in England.”

He went on to add that, as in any sport, those running the organisations want to sign the best in the profession.

“I don’t believe that there is a single sporting director or coach in the world who would say: ‘I am not interested’,” he said.

“It is like asking yourself whether any Formula 1 team would be interested in having Lewis Hamilton.”
