With a market value of €40 million, Martin Odegaard is one of the top three players that are currently out on loan behind Atletico Madrid’s Alvaro Morata (€50m market value) who is on loan at Juventus and Federico Chiesa who has a market value of €48m and is also on loan at Juventus from Fiorentina.
Odegaard, 22, completed his loan move to Arsenal from Real Madrid on Wednesday until the end of the season.
For the Norway international, it is the fourth loan since his move to Los Blancos in the winter of 2015.
Set back by injuries, Odegaard has been on the pitch for Real Madrid for only 367 minutes in nine matches since his return from Real Sociedad, for whom he was directly involved in 16 goals in 36 appearances last season.
Arsenal head coach Mikel Arteta is said to have convinced him to try to get back on track in London. According to reports, Arsenal will pay the entire salary of the attacking midfielder until June 30.
