Gattusso – All eyes will be on Nigerian international forward Victor Osimhen to deliver the goals that will earn Napoli the maximum points when the Partenopei host Udinese this evening at the Armando Maradona stadium in Naples in a matchweek 36 game in the Serie A.
Osimhen is undisputedly the man in form for not just Napoli but also in Serie A at the moment. The forward has indeed been on fire in recent weeks, having been involved in 10 goals (eight goals and two assists) in his last 11 matches. It has helped Napoli secure eight valuable wins, including the 5-2 triumph over Lazio and the 4-1 demolition of Spezia at the weekend.
The Nigerian has now netted in four consecutive games, with a total of five goals coming in that spell – showing signs of being back to his best after struggling to make an initial impact because of injuries and illness. Now into double figures for the season, the Super Eagle could be an integral part of helping Napoli secure a return to Europe’s elite in the final fortnight.
Although Osimhen’s overall tally of 10 league goals might not raise too many eyebrows considering his €70 million price tag, he is certainly starting to find his feet in Italy. And given his performances in recent weeks, the Nigerian international could certainly cause problems for the Udinese defence with his dynamism in the final third, coupled with his work rate and positional sense.
