Sheriff Fred Abdalla Age 77 had dedicated his life to Jefferson County for nearly 37 years. He died this morning, Tuesday, according to reports.
Sheriff Abdalla has worked with other law enforcement agencies in the Ohio Valley to reduce crime.
Sheriff Abdalla has completed a number of hours of law enforcement training. The Sheriff, his deputy sheriffs, and his staff are dedicated to helping Jefferson County residents.
Who Is Sheriff Fred Abdalla?
Sheriff Fred Abdalla Age 77 who had been Sheriff since 1985, had previously served for three years as a coroner investigator and thirteen years as the mayor of Stratton.
Abdalla graduated from Catholic Central High School, went to Ohio State University, and graduated from the Ohio State Highway Patrol Academy.
He was a decorated military veteran who served in Vietnam for two years and got numerous awards and honors. The Salvation Army Community Service Award and the First Choice America Community Federal Credit Union Community Service Award are among the honors he has received in the community.

Abdullah was honored by the Mingo Business Association at their awards ceremony on September 8, 2019, at the Mingo Knights Hall in Columbus.
In 2008, the first year of the trade association’s Christmas celebration, Abdullah read the poem “The Eve Before Christmas” to children.
Abdalla has also contributed toys and gifts to children through Urban Mission, The Salvation Army, Catholic Charities, Special Olympics, Dreams Come True and 4-H for over 40 years.

He was well-known for his commitment to investigating crimes against juveniles and elderly people.
Sherif Abdalla was also a strong supporter of a number of causes and has earned numerous awards from the community, including the Salvation Army’s Community Service Award, First Choice Federal Credit Union’s Community Service Award, and the Sheriff Reserves’ Fundraiser to help the less fortunate.

Longtime Sheriff Fred Abdullah died this morning, according to multiple sources in Jefferson County.
The ministry has yet to make a formal statement on the matter.

In recent months, Abdalla’s health had deteriorated.
