Crotone and Nigeria forward Nwankwo Simy has been subjected to vile racist abuse on social media.
Simy posted an Instagram Stories with some of the abuse he received following the game.
“Let’s make him famous, because he deserves it,” was the caption from Simy.
These messages included ‘The bubonic plague needs to spread through Nigeria’ and ‘I’ll love it if your son dies of pancreatic cancer.’
Ironically, this weekend all the Serie A games are preceded by an anti-racism video.
Simy scored his 13th goal of the season in his club’s 3-2 defeat by visiting Bologna to remain bottom of the log.
The Nigerian is one of the top 10 goal scorers in the Serie A so far this term and his 13 goals is the most scored by a Nigerian in a Serie A season.
