Simy targets more Serie A scoring records

Simeon Nwankwo more commonly known as Simy will be looking to match or set more scoring records in the Italian Serie A in Crotone’s game against Udinese despite his club’s predicament.

Crotone will continue with their attempt to stay in the Serie A at least for yet another season when they play host to Udinese at the Stadio Ezio Scida in a round 31 clash on Saturday.

Simy is, however, not really a happy man despite beating the Serie A records of AC Milan legend, George Weah and former Inter Milan attacker, Obafemi Martins with Crotone still bottom.

Simy is also fast closing in on Yakubu Ayegbeni’s European league mark with his recent effort against Spezia in a Serie A fixture at the picturesque Stadio Alberto Picco last Saturday.

The towering striker was on target last weekend, albeit, the Pythagoreans were subdued 3-2 by the Little Eagle in an Italian elite division outing, making Crotone stay last on the log.

With that, he has 16 goals in the 2020-21 Serie A term, only one separates him from Ayegbeni who is Nigeria’s top-scorer in a single top-five European top-flight campaign in the 2000s.

Should red-hot Simy score at least two goals in his club’s remaining eight games in the Italian top division, he will surely overtake his compatriot’s mark that has stood for a decade.
