Former Leicester City frontman Tony Cottee is delighted with the incredible transformation of Kelechi Iheanacho and his deadly partnership with Jamie Vardy as the Foxes continue their push for a top four finish in the Premier League.
Leicester City play league leaders Manchester City on Saturday and Cottee believes the partnership between Iheanacho and Vardy should be able to see them clinch one of the four UEFA Champions League places at the end of the campaign.
‘In the last seven or eight games the manager (Brendan Rodgers) has decided to play Kelechi with Jamie. I think Jamie has been a fantastic player for Leicester over the last eight or nine years. He’s been incredibly consistent.
‘Kelechi has been very persistent, very patient and I have been really delighted for him because he got to the team and he put in some good performances and then the goals started to come as well and he’s been banging them in.
He’s been outstanding in the last few games. We are at a point now where he’s in that team to stay and there’s a really good partnership developing,’ said Tony Cottee.
