Tottenham have reportedly shortlisted Eintracht Frankfurt star Willian Pacho as a target, though they face a race against time to secure his signature. Ange Postecoglou made it no secret heading into the transfer window that he was keen to bolster his defensive ranks, and he could be rewarded with a second new centre-back.
Spurs have been one of the busiest Premier League clubs this month, with ex-Chelsea star Timo Werner joining the club on loan with an option to buy from RB Leipzig. Tottenham also managed to fend off interest from Bayern Munich to land Radu Dragusin from Genoa, with Djed Spence heading in the opposite direction on loan.
Further reinforcements should not be ruled out for the remainder of the transfer window, with Spurs’ move for Antonio Nusa being hijacked by Brentford. Another forward is a priority as a result, though another centre-back also appears to be a consideration.
According to Sacha Tavolieri, Tottenham have shortlisted Frankfurt star Pacho as a target and have ‘taken information’ on his profile and situation at the Deutsche Bank Park. The north London outfit have sent scouts to watch the Ecuadorian international on several occasions this season and have been impressed by his displays.
Tottenham aren’t the only club in the race to sign Pacho though which could force Postecoglou’s side to table an offer for the 22-year-old sooner rather than later in fear of seeing another one of their pursuits hijacked by a direct rival.
Several Premier League clubs are said to be keen on Pacho and he has been labelled as ‘one to watch’ during the summer transfer window as a result, but Tottenham could pounce to ensure that they have their long-term backline options among their ranks for the remainder of the season.
