New Chelsea manager, Thomas Tuchel will play his first London derby tonight when he leads Chelsea to the Tottenham Hotspur stadium to face Jose Mourinho’s Tottenham.
The German will be hoping to become the first Chelsea manager to keep a clean sheet in each of his first three Premier League matches since Mourinho in August 2004.Tuchel drew goalless in his first game in charge against Wolves and won 2-0 at Burnley both at Stamford Bridge in London.
It looks an uphil task for the new Blues gaffer as their host are the only side still unbeaten in Premier League London derbies this season, although they have won just one of their five such matches.
Tottenham’s form of late should give Tuchel hope of setting a new record with Mourinho seeking to avoid losing consecutive Premier League home matches for the first time.
History also seems to be in favour of the new gaffer as Chelsea are unbeaten in their last four Premier League meetings with Spurs ,keeping a clean sheet in three of these contests.
