Tyson Fury told to ‘retire’ by Usyk camp after postponing Saudi fight | Boxing | Sport

Tyson Fury has been told to retire by Oleksandr Usyk’s promoter Alex Krassyuk after the Gypsy King was forced to postpone their blockbuster fight with just over two weeks’ notice. Fury sustained a cut eye during sparring that ensured he would be unable to recover in time for their February 17 date.

Fury took to Instagram to vent his frustrations at the decision. “Can’t help getting injured in sparring but what I can say was Usyk was in trouble I am in fantastic shape,” he wrote. “I will reschedule soon as I can. 2024 a massive year for team GK.”

Krassyuk then swiftly responded on the social media site, as he commented on Fury’s post urging him to consider hanging up his gloves: “Wish you soonest recovery. God sent you a sign. Think of retirement, brother.”
