Umar Sadiq was on target when Almeria beat Castellon 3-1 in a La Liga SmartBank game at the Estadio Mediterraneo on Saturday, thereby, matching his personal goal-scoring record in a single league season.
Sadiq needed a goal to equal his personal scoring record in a league season after scoring 11 times in 18 Super Liga games for Partizan Belgrade during the 2019-20 campaign.
And having scored ten goals before Saturday, the lanky Nigerian attacking ace was on target in the 78th minute off a Samu assist in Almeria’s win over Castellon to extend his league goals for this season to eleven in 20 appearances.
Sadiq has now found the back of the net 13 times in 22 appearances across all competitions since he switched to Almeria from Partizan Belgrade of Serbia in October of last year.
