Watford boss allays fears over Troost-Ekong injury

Watford – Nigeria defender William Troost-Ekong should be able to play this weekend against Luton Town, according to head coach Xisco Munoz.

Troost-Ekong was substituted in the 2-0 win over Reading after receiving treatment during the match.

Asked about the former Udinese of Italy defender, who was taken off in the second half with muscle cramp, the head coach added: “He was a little tired and he stopped in a good time.”

Troost-Ekong will be seeking to make his 29th start in 30 appearances this weekend against Luton Town. He has scored once and helped the Hornets keep 14 clean sheets in the 29 games he has featured in the Skybet championship.

Last weekend’s win moves Watford 12 points clear of the chasing pack and a step closer to promotion back to the Premier League.
