Wijnaldum – Joan Laporta‘s arrival as Barcelona president has seen some top names linked with moves to the club this summer and one of those, Georginio Wijnaldum, reportedly already has an agreement in place.
The Liverpool midfielder is out of contract this summer and has decided to leave the Anfield club.
According to the Sunday Times, Wijnaldum has a pre-contract agreement with Barcelona to join as a free agent.
The 30-year-old has been on Ronald Koeman’s wish list since long before the election of Laporta, but while still under contract the Catalan club could not afford to make a move for him.
Owing to ongoing financial difficulties it is a necessity that Barcelona will have to make smart moves this summer, and looking at big-name free agents is a big part of that.
Wijnaldum is not the only player linked with a free transfer to Barcelona this summer, with Eric Garcia also set to arrive at the Camp Nou
