According to report ‘Paul Pogba Faces Provisional Suspension Due to Anti-Doping Violation’ Juventus midfielder Paul Pogba has been placed under provisional suspension following an anti-doping violation, as confirmed by Italy’s national anti-doping tribunal (Nado). The incident occurred after Pogba’s participation in Juventus’ 3-0 victory against Udinese on August 20, 2023.
Pogba, a 30-year-old French international, was not used in the match but was selected at random for post-match drug testing, which subsequently revealed elevated levels of testosterone in his test results.
During the current season, Pogba has played only a total of 51 minutes as a substitute in games against Bologna and Empoli.

In response to the suspension, Juventus issued a statement, saying, “Juventus announces that the player Paul Pogba received a precautionary suspension order from the National Anti-Doping Tribunal following the adverse outcome of the analysis carried out on August 20, 2023. The club reserves the right to evaluate the situation.”
Nado reported that Pogba’s violation of anti-doping regulations stemmed from the presence of “non-endogenous testosterone metabolites,” with results indicating that the source of these compounds was external to the body. Testosterone is a hormone known for enhancing athletes’ endurance.
Pogba rejoined Juventus on a four-year contract in July 2022 after leaving Manchester United as a free agent when his contract expired. However, his return to Turin has been marked by persistent injury issues, which also caused him to miss the previous year’s World Cup in Qatar.
In the last season, Pogba’s playing time was limited to 108 minutes across six Serie A games, three appearances with one assist in the Europa League, and just 11 minutes in the Coppa Italia, with no goals to his name.
Recently, Pogba’s injury woes resurfaced, with Juventus manager Massimo Allegri noting that the player had picked up a minor back problem after his appearance against Empoli.
