Canadian tennis star Eugenie Bouchard couldn’t hide her fear after a sketch artist’s unsuccessful attempt to draw her dream man. Despite her best efforts to detail the features she’d be looking for in a soulmate, viewers instead likened the finished product to a serial killer.
Bouchard’s love life has been a frequent talking point in recent years, ever since she agreed to date a fan following a lost bet on Super Bowl LI in 2017. The 28-year-old has since been on dates with two more fans after auctioning her time for charitable causes in 2021.
She’s yet to find her perfect partner, however, and one artist’s attempt to draw him didn’t go as intended. Bouchard—who jokingly described herself as “single and lonely”—recently appeared on the Golf, Mostly podcast, with a freehand sketcher in attendance to draw the candidate live as she described him.
“My first instinct is tall, dark and handsome with a decent cheekbone structure,” she told hosts Michelle Wie West and Hally Leadbetter. “I like hair that isn’t too short, medium length. They need to have nice thick eyebrows and full lips, small ears, and a nice dainty nose and forehead.

“Guys, I’m scared,” exclaimed the 2012 Wimbledon girls’ champion, who has been dealing with a long-term injury in recent years. One fan supported the serial killer theme and commented the sketch was “giving Jeffrey Dahmer vibes,” while another suggested it looked like a White Walker from HBO’s Game of Thrones.
It’s fair to say Bouchard’s search for love will endure after failing to nail down the visage of her ideal man. However, it also helps to rule out what she’s not looking for, so the sketch experiment wasn’t a complete waste of time.
