Melissa Pittman Accusations

Mellisa Pittman has made numerous allegations of domestic violence against her ex-husband, Michael Pittman Senior.

According to reports from 2014, the former NFL player was charged with beating his wife in Torrance three years prior. A complaint was filed in July at the Torrance courthouse by the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office. The charges were for causing bodily harm to a spouse, cohabitant, or child’s parent.

The incident happened on June 9, 2011, in the 2900 block of 235th Street. Michael willingly and unlawfully inflicted injury on his wife, leaving her in a terrible state. Sargent Robert Watt of the Torrance Police Department said the incident began with a verbal disagreement that escalated into a violent brawl.

The incident’s specific facts were not revealed by the police. They had a warrant out for Michael’s arrest in 2011, but they didn’t take him into custody right away. He was detained on April 24th, according to records.

Three years after that event, he appeared before the Torrance Superior Court, but Judge Thomas Sokolov rescheduled the proceedings to 31 October.

However, this wasn’t the first time for the former athlete.

Michael faced a lot of domestic violence allegations throughout his playing career. He rammed his Hummer into a Mercedes-Benz in which Melissa, his then 2-year-old son and babysitter Kristina Hegland, were inside. The event took place near his Phoenix home. The Arizona prosecutors then indicted him on aggravated assault charges.

As for the reports, it all happened over a disagreement on taking the child to the training camp of Tampa Bay Buccaneers. He then pleaded guilty to endangerment charges and the assault, resulting in the dropping of domestic violence charges. As a consequence, the NFL banned him for three games next year.

He received a sentence of 30 days imprisonment from a Maricopa County Superior Court judge. However, law enforcement released him after 14 days.

Besides that, the NFL suspended him from one game during his time in Arizona Cardinals in 2001. The punishment was to address his misdemeanor conviction in a domestic violence case.

Furthermore, Melissa accused him of 30 to 40 previous domestic violence situations that never got reported.
